Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
