Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
