That Gory Cartoon Film Ending That Haunts Viewers

Out of every mature cartoon movies I have ever viewed, no other has stuck with me as much as the terror-laced conclusion of a viscerally violent and deeply subversive film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

In 2015’s, this Spain-based filmmaker developed a dark, bleak , often savage world that included some tiny , forlorn glimmers of hope.

While Unicorn Wars appears as it originated from a desire to advance animation further, the director stated that it was more an attempt to communicate a universal, multicultural message about “the common origin of all wars.”

This theme is expressed through a squad of vividly colored bears , openly modeled after a popular series of lovable characters.

Maturing in a culture built around militarism and the war machine, a lot of these animals are fixated on exterminating unicorns, thanks to a holy book that claims them they previously were rulers of the woods, before the unicorns drove them out.

Others have not completely bought into the brainwashing, , choose to sample narcotics and fornicate outdoors.

In contrast to their gentle counterparts, these vivid animals display sexual organs , definite libidos.

For a certain notably brutal, cynical bear, the character Bluey, the war with the unicorns transforms into a route to power — and especially to dominance over his softer, kinder brother the bear Tubby.

This bear acts as a tormentor and an apparent sociopath , and while terror dominates his group and takes his fellow soldiers sequentially, he grabs progressively control for himself, via progressively bloody, destructive ways.

Simultaneously, the horned creatures are suffering their own terror, as a growing, destructive monster in their habitat.

“At the beginning, it feels like a lighthearted film,” the filmmaker commented. “But then it turns into a more dramatic and melancholic movie. And in the finale, it’s a horror film.”

Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like one of the most whimsical movies by a legendary animator, that discover a naughty glee in allowing drawn beings swear, fire weapons, or sex each other up.

Then it becomes closer to a darker film from the same creator, including ever more explicit brutality and a palpable link to the actual horror of conflict.

In the finale, it is a full-on extreme drama carnage.

The horror that turns the film a perfect Halloween viewing begins well before than indicated.

Unicorn Wars is ideal for the hardcore lovers of violence, for enthusiasts of intense movies who wish to watch a film they haven’t ever watched previously, and can endure a narrative which delivers absolutely no punches.

See it with the lights off with no disturbances, and that ending will crawl under your skin and take up residence there.
