Naval Search Efforts Initiated
The Mexican government has sent naval teams and military search aircraft to locate the Friendship and Tigger Moth, which were transporting no fewer than nine personnel, as stated by a navy statement.
The vessels had been scheduled to reach the Cuban capital on either Tuesday or Wednesday, but there has been a complete lack of contact from them and no confirmation of their safe arrival, the statement clarified.

"The skippers and their teams are seasoned mariners, and both vessels are outfitted with proper navigational gear and emergency beacons," a spokesperson involved in the effort said.
The nine-person crew are nationals of the United States, Cuba, France, and Poland. Officials said it has opened communications with maritime rescue coordination centres from each country along with their diplomatic representatives.
"We are working closely with the relevant authorities and continue to be hopeful in the ability of the crews to reach Havana safely," the statement continued.
Earlier Humanitarian Shipment
Previously that week, the government in Havana publicly celebrated and greeted with fanfare another boat that had delivered a significant amount of humanitarian aid to the nation.
That ship, dubbed "a modern Granma" following the name of the boat in which the revolutionary leader returned to Cuba to begin the Cuban Revolution in the mid-20th century, brought solar panels, pharmaceuticals, formula milk, cycles and food.
